Le genre Cyathea 1/2

A ce jour,
et suite aux conclusions en 1996 de Conant et al. ;

il semblerait qu'une nouvelle classification serait faite

se basant sur les analyses moléculaires ADN des chloroplastes

et la morphologie.

Cette classification définit trois clades (groupes)

            qui semblent en dériver :

             Genre : Cyathea

                              ⤷Section : Alsophila 

                              ⤷Section : Cyathea

                              ⤷Section : Sphaeropteris

Étymologie :

Du grec  Kuathos, κύατος ou kyatheion, κυάθειον : petite tasse.

En référence à la forme des sore qui contiennent les spores.
